Prior to bariatric surgery:
- Your Surgeon will request that you have a Pre-Surgical Psychological Evaluation.
- At Talk Time, this Evaluation usually take 2 sessions to complete.
- Upon completion, your Surgeon's office will be contacted and a letter will be forwarded within 24 hours.
- All surgical recommendations are based upon guidelines set by the American Society for Bariatric Surgery.
The success of your Post-Operative Recovery can be predicted by this Pre-Surgical Evaluation. Knowing your frame of mind, expectations, and support system can increase the likelihood that your procedure and recovery will be successful.
You can expect to complete several screenings that gather information about your emotional status, your behavioral tendencies, and your coping style. These tools will help to identify any issues that may need to be addressed before or after your surgery.
